Whether the view from the castle or from Bernkastel-Kues to the castle, both perspectives are worthwhile.

Great view across the Moselle to the castle. Landshut Castle is the ruins of a hilltop castle in Bernkastel-Kues in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district of Rhineland-Palatinate. Landshut Castle is located on the western slope of the Hunsrück above Bernkastel, a district of Bernkastel-Kues. It stands on the approximately 235 m above sea level[1] high castle hill, a northern spur of Mount Olympus (415 m above sea level).[1] The Moselle, flowing toward the castle from the southwest, turns northwest below the castle (approx. 107 m above sea level).[1] This allows travelers traveling upstream and downstream along the Moselle to see the castle on the horizon from afar. 5月 3, 2022, View of Landshut Castle Ruins
Historically, it cannot be stated exactly who first built a castle on the ridge near Bernkastel. What is certain, however, is that Provost Adalbero was the owner of the Bernkastel Castle mentioned in 993. Boemund I ruled from 1268 to 1299. He provided large funds to provide the castle with magnificent columns, beautiful chambers, strong walls, towers and strong parapets. He wanted to help the place gain a higher reputation by obtaining city rights for Bernkastel from the then German Emperor Rudolf von Habsburg. This is how Bernkastel was raised to the status of a town in 1291. During the reign of Elector Boemund II, there is also a legend as to how today's world-famous Doctor wine got its name: thanks to the healing properties of the said wine, the Elector was able to be freed from his suffering from a serious illness, which the most expensive medicine could not overcome until now . This is how the Bernkasteler Doctor wine got its name. The famous vineyard is still the most expensive in the world. Through power, greed, hatred and war, the castle has been destroyed three times over the years, most recently in 1692 when a conflagration burned down the castle in the 17th century. It was given the name "Landshut Castle Ruins", the remains of which can still be visited today.

1月 14, 2022, Mont Royal Fortress Ruins
The Mont Royal fortress was built as part of the Reunion policy, i.e. the annexation policy of Louis The facility was built by up to 8,000 forced laborers at considerable financial expense and covered an area of 50 hectares, with a length of 1,600 meters and a width of up to 750 meters. The length of the wall was 2920 meters and a height of up to 20 meters. The citadel of the fortress was protected by five bastions. A crew of 8,450 soldiers and 3,000 cavalry horses was planned. The very large fortress on non-French territory placed a significant burden on the French national budget. According to the terms of the Treaty of Rijswijk of October 30, 1697, demolition began before the construction was fully completed. The remains of the fortress were excavated from 1929 to 1937, partly with the help of the Reich Labor Service. The political leadership at the time hoped that this action would have a propaganda effect against France. After the Second World War, with increasing tourism, the remains were reopened to visitors.

Built around 1350 by Count Johann III, a son of the legendary Countess Loretta, it was the ancestral seat of the Counts of Sponheim until 1437. During the turmoil of war in the 17th and 18th centuries, the castle changed hands thirteen times. In 1734 it was conquered and destroyed by the French. The castle ruins offer a magnificent view of the Moselle. Source: https://www.traben-trarbach.de/de/grevenburg.html
