Worth seeing in Bernkastel is the medieval market square with its gabled timber framed houses from the 17th century, among which stands out from the 1416 narrow narrow house particularly stands out. Around the St. Michaelsbrunnen of 1606 are grouped a number of well-preserved buildings and also the Renaissance town hall of 1608. On the Mosel is the Catholic parish church of St. Michael and St. Sebastian, whose imposing bell tower originally served as a defense tower. Over the district Bernkastel lies the castle ruin Landshut, a former summer residence of the Trier archbishops, which was destroyed 1692 by a fire. Today, it serves as a popular lookout point over the Mosel valley. Also worth seeing is the only remaining city gate Graacher Tor.
