In itself, a weir is nothing special in a stream, especially since the difference in elevation is only a few centimeters. Above the weir, it's a lovely stream; behind it, it suddenly looks like the Alps: filled with large stones and basalt boulders, the wide watercourse carves small channels through the masses of rock and tree debris. It looks as if a raging river is flowing into the valley here. Perhaps this has something to do with the function of the dam: regulating water levels.
