Colle Croce di Ferro is an Alpine pass in the Graian Alps that connects the Susa Valley with the Viù Valley. Administratively, it marks the border between the municipalities of Bussoleno and Usseglio.

This refuge is managed and open only during the summer months. It's possible to stop for a break when climbing to the summit of Rocciamelone. It's located approximately halfway between La Riposa and Rocciamelone.

i want to climb the Rocciamelone in April from Susa? Is that possible (is there still snow then) and is it easy to lift with other fellow hikers?

The Colle della Croce di Ferro connects the municipality of Bussoleno, Valle di Susa, with Usseglio, the Valle di Viù. The mule track that goes up from Malciaussia was used for war purposes during the Second World War. In fact, it was used to reach the barracks scattered over the hills of the area.
