Small rest area

The rest area is also equipped with a maintenance and charging station, as many cyclists arrive here by bike ferry from the other side of the Danube. The charging station offers direct charging without a charger. Adapter cables for the most common eBike drives are available (unfortunately, only two from Bosch).

This well almost saved my life. Completely dehydrated from the climb out of the Mühltal valley and crossing the fields in the summer heat, it was more than welcome.

CAUTION! Currently (June 2025) there is very deep gravel under the bridge near the castle on the descent from the castle to the Danube. Danger of falling!

The Altenfeldner Burgi has a wonderful view far across the country. The statue of Saint Notburga, carved by Theo Öttl, stands high up on the Eichberg, in a chapel built especially for her.
