In the municipality of Castiglione Olona, the Monteruzzo castle stands out for its white profile and its imposing towers. Being located in an elevated position, it is clearly visible from afar and today houses the civic library. Furthermore, it is often used as a center for fairs and events.

At the end of the beach promenade there is "suddenly" a huge building: Villa Olmo. Imposing park with a panoramic view of Como. The bike has to be pushed.

Villa Olmo is a perfect example of Italian neoclassical style. Its elegance and charm didn’t go unnoticed by Napoleon Bonaparte and Giuseppe Garibaldi, who were two of the most notable guests of the villa. Castello Baradello, the symbol of Spina Verde Park, is a fortification erected in 1558 by Holy Roman Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, on the remains of 6th-century Byzantine buildings. Visits to the tower of Castello Baradello are possible by reservation only.

In the frescoed rooms of the fourteenth-century Palazzo dei Castiglioni in Monteruzzo, there is the Plastic Arts Museum, which exhibits an original collection of around fifty plastic works created in the 1970s by some of the most popular international artists of the post-war period (Carla Accardi, Enrico Baj, Giacomo Balla, Man Ray...). The MAP constitutes one of the most interesting results of the meeting between art and industry and is the first museum in Italy dedicated to works of art in multi-material materials.

The city wall was built in the 13th/14th. Built in the century and surrounded the old town of Como. Mighty, square towers stand at regular intervals, although the former main gate is no longer preserved.
