Mostly paved road with small potholes and few meters of unpaved road that require attention. Even though it is a very demanding climb the views are totally worth it. One of the best “less-touristy” roads in high altitude Greece. ATTENTION: Limitted access to drinkable water along the way. Make sure to refill in any given opportunity.

I can only agree with the previous speaker. We were coming from the other direction, and luckily it was dry, but the path is impossible—avoid it at all costs.

Be careful, the gravel road after the chapel with its watering hole is impassable, especially after rainy days. It narrows to a descending dirt road with a clayey surface. The reddish clay quickly becomes several centimeters thick and sticks to the tire treads. I also had the misfortune of driving almost directly into a herd of 10-15 wild boars. The animals blocked the path. There was no way to get past them!
