Nice little café and also the opportunity to buy small handicrafts and homemade items. Nice atmosphere and apparently popular with locals too.

I had similarly good visibility as the previous speaker :-P, but the route was still well attended during the day and during the week. The route is easy to find. After the first steep climb it levels off again for a while with excellent views of the Ersfjord... then comes the final spurt... Pure scrambling, I love that kind of thing...but if you're not completely sure-footed or have no experience in loose scree, you should probably leave the last 100m unclimbed. One is the ascent...the descent also means a great risk of stumbling with rather unsightly landing places. The “summit” is a vertical, very high cliff on the back and is quite unstable. However, if you tread carefully, you will have an excellent view of all three fjords. Even if you can only see it between the clouds for a few seconds :-)

Parking lot and starting point of a short hike to the Buren summit. In Ersfjord there is a nice little cafe with handmade cakes and gifts. It is worth a walk on the beach and the search for flotsam and shells.

On the Buren it is only a short but quite demanding hike. Especially the last few meters require scrambling and use of hands. When the weather is nice, you should have a great view of the fjord.

The view all around is really nice and even if there is a bit more going on, you can find a quiet spot up there to enjoy. Now in March, slightly above zero and snow, some byways are hard to find, but the cross-country trails were easily prepared and easy to find. Otherwise, always follow your nose and any footprints that may be present. In combination with the navigation it works. Snowshoes will definitely make the ascent easier, but you can also do without. You might end up sinking deep (like me) and it's exhausting, but who cares, it's all about having fun. 🙂
