A lot has already been said and written about Spitsbergen. This survey lives up to its name. Good shoes are strongly recommended for those who hike up and down this short path. Brisk walks in summer conditions are also possible with well-fitting "sneakers". But any ankle injured with ligament damage recommend high shoes and then ideally stepping on sideways. It can also get pretty muddy in wintry conditions. In the worst case ... the nearest orthopedic is in Lichtenfels ;-) And the seating area with a view "of the vast country" in front of the massive bushes has something "archaically majestic". However, the table shows clear "dissolution phenomena".

And because the forests on the summit of the Hohe Asslitz have now been thinned out a bit, since 2016 you can finally enjoy the views of the Obermaintal, the Staffelberg, the Veste Coburg and even the Blessberg in the Thuringian Forest. The Hohe Asslitz is a hill in the middle of a large forest area between the Coburg Land and the Obermaintal. Unfortunately (as of July 2021) there is hardly a view from its 378 meters height. The trees have grown too high in the meantime. A free cutting would be urgently needed. I could only look through a small aisle to the Staffelberg.
