After a direct climb through the woods, you'll reach a fork in the trail. Proceeding towards the cross, it's a ten-minute walk, climbing the rocks and using your hands to help you. The view is worth the effort!

This mountain is ideal for sunrise hikes, as you can reach the summit from the nearby rest area within 30-40 minutes and thus have a very good view in the morning or during the day over Portoferraio, Rio Marina or parts of Porto Azurro

The most beautiful section is from Capo Fonza to Monte Fonza because you can see the bays to the left and right. You can even see Monte Capane.

Mount Capanne, with its 1,019 meters above sea level, is the highest peak on the island of Elba. It can be reached with the characteristic basket route from Marciana, or on foot via paths 101 and 105 from Marciana or Poggio. The walking path includes passages on supported rock protected by metal cables, so it is good to have a minimum level of familiarity with the environment.
