    Contrary to Komoot: do not take the exit from here on the left towards Porto Azurro. The way down there is EXTREMELY difficult and dangerous. The bike has to be carried all the way through, gravel slopes that have it all in it, and finally a dried-up river bed with fallen trees spiked with thorns. On the other hand, via ferratas. Follow the path after the summit, but then keep right.

      Awesome view - but not without price. That Bike wear, sometimes you can sometimes push.
      The way down on the other side is barely mobile (steerable) because deep coarse gravel.

        Very nice views. But beware: sections of the route are not passable, at least for me. Mountain equipment would be helpful here, so wear MB. But worth it.😀

          I can only agree. I came from the north with the E-MTB and wanted to pull it up the steep part with a rope, but it worked that way. Downhill on the south side is brutal and only makes sense with a biobike.

                      A beautiful trail, weather permitting. The climb from the Volterraio road to the top of the mountain is wide and well-marked, but very steep. The rocky surface makes it difficult to ride a bike, so you'll have to push for several sections. The view, however, makes the effort worthwhile.
