12月 12, 2025, Santiago da Guarda
The Santiago da Guarda Monumental Complex is an unmissable stop, where history unfolds in layers. Classified as a National Monument, it stands out for its Manueline elegance, its 14th-century manor tower, and the impressive Roman mosaics that reveal an ancient villa from the 4th and 5th centuries. The old road between Tomar and Coimbra passed through here, later used by pilgrims on their way to Santiago. Surrounded by the limestone landscape and oak groves of the Serra de Sicó, the place invites you to slow down and take a deep breath. Take the opportunity to chat with the hospitable people.

12月 8, 2025, Castelo de Pombal
Pombal Castle dominates the landscape and the very history of the city. Built between 1156 and 1171 by the Knights Templar, it formed part of the old Mondego defensive ring, a series of fortresses that protected access to Coimbra after the Reconquista. Over the centuries it suffered attacks, including those from Napoleonic troops, and fell into ruin. Today, the castle has once again become a vibrant and accessible space, a privileged viewpoint and an essential landmark of Pombal's identity.

3月 24, 2025, Forte de São João Baptista das Berlengas
The Fort of São João Baptista is located on the island of Berlenga Grande. Its military structure is the most significant construction in the Berlengas and the most iconic element of the archipelago. It is not known exactly when the Fort of São João Baptista was built, but there is some unclear evidence that indicates that a fortification existed there since the 16th century.

12月 13, 2024, Óbidos Castle
Of Roman origin, the town of Óbidos derives from the Latin opiddum, meaning "fortified city." Later occupied by Visigothic and Muslim peoples, it was reconquered by the first King of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques, in 1148. Its walls still reveal traces of the ancient people who settled here, high atop the hill, overlooking the Óbidos Lagoon on one side and the Usseira Aqueduct on the other. But Óbidos offers much more than monuments. There's a literary town to discover, full of color, excitement, and traditions. The main street in Óbidos leads from the town gate to the castle. The buildings we encounter preserve the identity of Óbidos, considered one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the world. The houses in the town of Óbidos are painted in various colors: yellow, blue, red, and gray. (Source: tourism center of Portugal)

5月 15, 2024, Château de Porto de Mós
Porto de Mós Castle is very original, thanks to its large green and pointed turrets, you can see it from afar! It is an architectural work with unique characteristics which stands on a small hill. Conquered from the Moors in 1148 by the first king of Portugal, Dom Afonso Henriques, the castle of Porto de Mós had an important role in the Christian reconquest and a few years later (1385) in the battle of Aljubarrota, a battle which gave definitive independence in Portugal. In the 15th century, the castle was transformed into a residential palace by D. Afonso. After his death in 1459, the palace was abandoned and partially destroyed by the great earthquake of 1755. From 1936 until 1999, the castle underwent several restorations, which allowed it to regain its former glory. It has been classified as a National Monument since 1910.
