Selsley Common is a vast expanse of open grasslands located near Stroud in the Cotswolds. Its elevated position provides some wonderful panoramic views across the surrounding countryside, with its most impressive view being across the stunning Severn Vale. The reserve is abundant with wildlife and birdlife, so why not bring your binoculars along and enjoy the show.

my tip here is don't take it too fast as the bottom section gets a bit techy.... unless you are a full sus mtb in which case go for it

Make sure to walk all the way around it to find the entrance 👍

Take time to stop and look. Getting up here isn't too difficult but well worht the effort.

Iron Age burial site

Nympsfield Long Barrow stands high on the Cotswold scarp and affords incredible views over the Severn Valley. Constructed in the Neolithic period (around 2800 BCE), it is one of the earliest examples of a barrow with separate chambers. The site has long the subject of legends and bizarre stories, including one that it was once a refuge for lepers. The site is managed by English Heritage and is free to enter during daylight hours.
