Really pretty section to walk.

Just to the north of the main car park, there is an iron age hillfort, it is still on the edge of the Cotswold Escarpment, so it has stunning views (same as from the car park!) But, there's a really informative board about archaeological digs & findings here. Easily accessible walking paths, and worth a read

Not a bad way to get up to Nympsfield / down to Coaley if you're bikepacking and want to avoid traffic on the narrow steep roads. The steep bit is not comfortable walking with a loaded bike but doable and fairly short (not possible to ride with road bikes). There are no gates or stiles, and the woods are lovely. And at the bottom, wonderful views and beautiful quiet roads down to Coaley and beyond.

Church is now open 😀

I was lucky enough to find the church open... pre-Covid you had to get the key from a nearby farm... then it was closed to the public during Covid. Perhaps things have changed or perhaps it is opened when the manor house is open to the public? There are two timed switches for the lights just inside the door to the left. Truly stunning frescos to marvel at.

Fun, fast running on the way down, super tough climbing to get to the top - but well rewarded with stunning views from Coaley Peak.

Great views and all bridleway. You can stay at the top or ride a slightly more technical singletrack a level down at the end. You can drop down to lower levels at each corner or complete a lap.

Always great views no matter what the weather
