Inside the church you will find the beautiful mosaics depicting the Last Supper after Leonardo da Vinci’s painting. They were made by Antonio Salviati (1816-1890), the founder of a glass making and mosaic company based at Murano near Venice.

Community run. Lovely old Pub with a large garden round the back, that is set over 2 levels. All covered and with great views. Good food & beer. Recommended.

Good view of Otmoor

This pretty church has Norman origins although it was almost entirely rebuilt in the 14th and 15th centuries. Its churchyard is historic and peaceful, while the interior of the church has centuries-old paintings and impressive stained glass windows.

Elsfield is one of England's many tiny villages that time seems to have passed by. Here, you'll find a church with 12th century sections and a beautiful stone manor house which was once home to John Buchan, Governor General of Canada and author of Thirty-Nine Steps. Wander around the village to see its thatched cottages and enjoy its general air of peace.

Water Eaton Manor lies just north of Oxford, a stone's throw from the meandering River Cherwell. This beautiful manor house was built in the 16th century and later restored and reduced in size. Today, it's a Grade-II listed building and it easy to see thanks to the Oxford Green Belt Way footpath which runs around it.

Commanding a high perch above the plain of Otmoor, Beckley is a wonderfully picturesque village. Its honey-hued brickwork and the scenic splendour of the surrounding countryside make Beckley a rural idyll. Some say that the Lewis Carroll took inspiration for Alice's chess board in Through the Looking Glass from the colourful array of fields seen from the villages.
