Attwell's Memorial Fountain, Caversham Road, Reading outside Caversham Bridge Hotel, c1930. The fountain was in memory of Mayor of Reading Frank Attwell and his wife, and is now situated by the Thames side Promenade car park. 1930-1939

Dating from 1162, the impressive church tower was partially destroyed in the civil war in 1643. It was rebuilt in timber and then replaced by the present tower in 1878.

All along the south side of the Thames between Purley and Pangbourne there are gorgeous views across the water. There are often swans, geese and ducks swimming by too.

Caversham Heath is shared by The Caversham, home of Reading Golf Club. Footpaths criss-cross the area, with open views and woodlands.

If you are hiking in Caversham it is worth taking a trip to Caversham Court Gardens. Although relatively small, the riverside park is as beautiful as it is peaceful. There is a tea kiosk amongst the flowers and trees and its a perfect picnic spot.
