Note that the line runs well below street level and thus needs to be accessed by a longer flight of stairs at this entry point. With a bikepacking load, a better alternative seems to be a ramp on Ambrose Lane, which I only discovered in hindsight.

Harpenden Common is a free park and garden open to the public. There are lots of beautiful trees dotted about and plenty of room to play and run around. The park hosts a number of interconnected, flat & grassy trails that are perfect for running.

The footpath runs through the Harpenden Golf Course here. Keep a lookout for flying golf balls.

This footpath takes you along the edge of Knott Wood, where in the spring months, you'll be afforded a stunning display of blooming bluebells.

Rothamstead Manor is a sensational Grade I listed manor house set in the serene Hertfordshire countryside. The manor has a rich history dating back centuries, today, it's mostly used as an events' venue, focusing mainly on weddings.

Harpenden Common is a free park and garden open to the public. There are lots of beautiful trees dotted about and plenty of room to play and run around. You can bring a picnic and enjoy a day on the green, or make use of one of the many interconnected walking trails for a leisurely stroll.

This is a beautiful and quiet place to take a seat and relax or have a gentle stroll through nature.
