A beautiful circular walk. You walk along the river for large parts. Very beautiful.

A well-known route that connects with this mountain range: the Sendero del Pinsapar, which starts near Benamahoma and Grazalema and runs along the northern slope of the Sierra del Pinar.

We walked this in June 2025. Very nice walk. You come across a number of gates. You can just open these and continue following the route. We each had 2 liters of water and three sandwiches with us. You really need this because of the heat. There is currently a part that is not pleasant to walk. The farmer has plowed his entire olive grove here. So without GPS the route is not possible. It took us four hours now. You do need to be in reasonable shape. But super satisfied. Ended in Montignac with a terrace.

The Majaceite River Trail is one of the most popular routes in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park in Cádiz. This approximately 4.4-kilometre route connects the towns of El Bosque and Benamahoma. It is a low-difficulty trail, ideal for families, and can be completed in about 2 hours. During the walk, you will be accompanied by the Majaceite River, also known as the El Bosque River, and you will be able to observe a beautiful gallery forest with poplars, ash trees and elms. In addition, there are several points of historical interest, such as old mills and the Fábrica de Luz, which provided electricity to the area until 1963.

It is a beautiful trail, we enjoyed it very much, we have done it twice now and I have not planned a third.

Very nice hotel with a good restaurant. We stayed there on our long-distance hike from Tarifa to Switzerland and can highly recommend the hotel and the restaurant.
