Best lodge in Samoborsko gorje. Food is great, domestic, not so expensive, not to crowded place because there are no cars (like on Japetić). Paths are not to hard, views are beautiful (from Ptičji vrh and Oštrc specially). Craft beer is also TOP :-) 10/10

Mountain lodge Željezničar on Oštrac is located on a small mountain saddle below the peak of Oštrac, facing east. The home offers a beautiful view of Zagreb and Medvednica, and for good visibility, you can see the home itself from Zagreb.

The mountain ridge that closes the Sošićka valley on the north side has two peaks that are very interesting for hiking due to the wide vistas. To the west is Pliješ (977 m), and to the east is Ječmište (976 m). These are also the highest peaks east of Sveta Gera. The southern side of this ridge is steep and wooded, and when you reach the top, there are beautiful meadows on the other side, which is why they are often visited by lovers of tame and idyllic nature. These peaks are very accessible because below Pliješ there is a mountain lodge on Vodice (830 m), from which a mountain road climbs to almost 900 m above sea level. The top of Pliješ is marked with a metal pipe on which a metal box with a registration book is attached, and a stamp is welded under it. At the very top there is a board with directions to other hiking destinations. There are no particularly impressive views from the top.

Sljeme, at 3,396 feet (1,035 m), is Medvednica’s highest point ('sljeme' means 'summit' in Croatian). An icon of Zagreb, it's adorned by the OIV Tower, which is home to a panoramic observation deck for views across the Zagorje region and even as far as Slovenia's mountains. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the vicinity of the summit too.
