You can swim here for a small fee (€1 per child, €2 per adult). There is also a slide into the lake.

Sports are possible at the Großer Pönitzer See and the Pönitz Sports Park. The lake offers swimming areas, including the Klingberg swimming pool, which is patrolled by the DLRG (German Lifesaving Association), and a water access point. The SVG Pönitz sports club offers regular training and sports badge testing at the sports park.
