ダムロスでの周辺の簡単なハイキングとウォーキング

The paths in this area are easily walkable without special equipment, although we usually wear hiking boots.

At this point we were able to cross the mill stream without getting our feet wet.

To my knowledge, the large mill pond is leased by the Neustadt angling club, which also has rowboats available on the pond. There are benches at various locations around the pond, inviting visitors to linger. There is a campervan site near the forest swimming pool.

The meandering Mühlenbach stream is always a great subject for photographs.

A lovely hike on narrow paths and mostly wider forest roads, requiring no special equipment... we had a thaw, so rubber boots or flip-flops would be a recommended alternative to our hiking boots 😉 A particularly scenic section is the Güldenstein estate, where, from spring onwards, you can take some beautiful photos of grey and silver herons, as well as other seaplanes, on the ponds.

Once a fen, the landscape today was shaped by peat extraction. After the peat was removed, the extraction pits filled with water again and either silted up or became wet meadows. Some areas are cultivated. Overall, a beautiful, expansive landscape has developed here.

The St. Catherine's Church in Lensahn, a late Gothic brick church from the 15th century, impresses with its striking tower with a baroque dome. Particularly worth seeing is the richly decorated bronze baptismal font, which dates from 1641. The church also houses a historic organ, which offers a particularly attractive sound and is regularly used for concerts.
