A very nice small village surrounded by vineyards. Beside the church there is a small hotel and restaurant which was in earlier times a house of the "Deutscher Orden - Ordo Teutonico". The church is still maintained by the "Deutscher Orden". Its a wonderful place for a rest, a diner, just an aperitif with a great view into the landscape. It really can remember the view of the countryside in the Holy Land. They had a good reason to call this beautiful place "Jeruzalem"! On the wine route from Ormož (Friedau) to Ljutomer there is a wonderful wine region with the village of Jeruzalem as the center. According to a legend, this wonderful place was founded by the crusaders who were on their way back from the Holy Land, because it reminded them of Jerusalem in Palestine. In the church, which is traditionally looked after by the Teutonic Order, there is a copy of the picture of the "painful Mother of God" that the knights brought from the Holy Land.
