The café linden tree is also known as the Goethe linden tree. After all, the old tree witnessed the visit of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe to Count Werther in 1781. However, was the old tree was destroyed by a lightning strike in 1946. In November 2004, the historical coffee linden tree was replanted here.

A real eye-catcher is the police helicopter on the roof. Unfortunately, the restaurant is no longer managed.

The Schlothheim windmill was built in 1861 and was in use until the 1960s. Today it is a protected monument. Right next door is the Seilermuseum, where you can learn about the history of the city's rope-making trade. More information at https://geschichte.schlotheim.info/

The monastery in Schlotheim was founded in 1285 as a nunnery for the Magdalene nuns by the Lords of Schlotheim. Not much can be seen of the original monastery character. The monastery has been rebuilt many times over the centuries and finally in 2019 large parts of the monastery were demolished due to dilapidation.
