If you walk along the Hünenteichweg along the erosion ditch, you walk through dense beech forest. Especially in summer on hot days, you walk through shady leaf forest.

For those looking for a Touringen stamp, you'll have to do a bit of searching. The stamp box is not located at the UBIS environmental station, but you have to walk about 100m along the path into the area of the former shooting range to find the stamp.

Shortly after the Zollgarten hiking car park, you will have a beautiful view down into the Thuringian Basin.
