Quote: Ralf, April 13, 2019 (hiking highlight) "This natural monument is considered one of the most botanically valuable meadow areas in all of Thuringia and one of the most important locations for native orchids, especially the wild meadow gladiolus, which is threatened with extinction. From 1945 to 1950, the Soviet Air Force dropped bombs here for training purposes, and the area was a restricted area until 1990." Recently, signs have been put up here again.
