Here stands the war memorial of Ettersburg. It invites visitors to remember the soldiers who died in both World Wars.

The Vippachedelhausen reservoir is not very big but is still worth a visit.

A beautiful resting place for eternity. Anna Amalia must have had a great time here.

Since the first palace and park complexes were built at the beginning of the 18th century, Ettersburg was a popular hunting and summer residence for the ducal family of Saxony-Weimar and Eisenach. Anna Amalia gathered a literary and artistic circle around her here. The extensive landscape park with its gardens and the "Pückler-Schlag" is a gem of garden art.

An old coat of arms from 1680 is embedded in the former “Zur Weintraube” inn. It is the so-called Napoleon stone. As soon as I have more information about it, it will be added here.

This stele commemorates the subcamp of the Buchenwald concentration camp in Berlstedt. In 1938, a subcamp of the Buchenwald concentration camp was built on the outskirts. The 250 prisoners living there had to do forced labor in the attached brickworks and sewage treatment plant, which belonged to the SS-owned German Earth and Stone Works (“DEST”).
