The reservoir of Heichelheim is really beautiful I stopped there myself and took a rest 😁 you can also go swimming there and fortunately the ducks are apparently peaceful 🦆

The mighty parish church of Sankt Nikolai with its impressive tracery windows, Renaissance pulpit, epitaphs (including a painting by Lucas Cranach's pupil Peter Roddelstedt from 1563) and crypt, as well as its fascinating spatial sound, was built from 1486 to 1566 as a late Gothic hall church with a wooden barrel on the fortifications the castle erected. Buttelstedt was founded in 768 at the later Via Regia and at the intersection of old trade routes, was one of the four courts of the Thuringian landgraves (today's monument above the city center), owned a castle that offered citizens and commercial travelers protection, has been due to its cultural and economic importance since 1334 market rights and since 1454 city rights.

Beautiful valley section of the Scherkonde, meadow light with large trees and on the eastern side a slope lined with trees and bushes. Natural, but well-kept. Nice spot.
