The redesign of the cemetery was carried out with financial support from Russia, with the Russian Embassy in Berlin exerting significant influence on the design and ignoring the requirements of monument protection. For example, the memorial was given a red star and the gravestones were decorated with the symbol of the Soviet Red Army, even though the original state was to be restored without the star.

The watermill is a single-story, solid structure with timber framing and a half-hipped roof. Access to the mill was via a dormer, the door of which was accessible via a bridge from the dam. The wall around the waterwheel was protected from splashing water by a thick wooden wall.

The current town hall of Dargun was built in 1855/56 as the "Red School" in the neo-Gothic style and served as a school building until 2002. It was renovated in 1993 and converted into a modern administrative headquarters between 2004 and 2006.

The former Dargun District Office, also known as the Old Town Hall, dates back to the 19th century, more precisely to 1865. The two-story, historicist-style building with clinker brickwork, a three-story tower, a southeastern apse, and a mezzanine floor, was built in the Wilhelminian period. It is a listed building and features sandstone surrounds on the corners and window reveals, as well as a striking corbelled cornice. The coat of arms of the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Friedrich Franz III, is displayed above the portal.

In the legends of Dargun, it is said that a hideous dragon once wreaked havoc in the monastery lake, which was then still a large swamp, and that its favorite food was virgins.

The Dargun Slav Trail is an adventure trail that leads through a forest and tells the story of the Slavic Zirzipani people who lived in the region in the 8th and 9th centuries. They belonged to the Wilzen tribe and built a fortified castle with three ramparts northwest of Dargun. Nothing of it remains today—a Jewish cemetery now stands in its place.

The baroque tea pavilion in the castle park of , which was built in the 17th century, is now a popular place for civil weddings and is used by the town of Dargun.

The Dargun Monastery Shop offers regional specialties from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, as well as handmade goods, natural products, gift items, delicatessen, spirits, liqueurs, herbal liqueurs, sweets, ceramics, jewelry, soaps, cosmetics, and literature. The shop is open Monday to Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
