Kolshorn Pond is a gravel pit lake near Kolshorn. There is a second, smaller pond opposite, but it is not accessible. Both are fishing ponds.

A lovely seating area set up by the "Experience City & Nature Working Group" in Lehrte City Marketing. Funded by the EU and the Hanover Region. A big request to everyone stopping here: Please take your own trash with you! (It really goes without saying!)

The moor was first mentioned in a document from Duke Wilhelm of Brunswick and Lüneburg in 1365, and peat has been dug here since the Middle Ages. The moor landscape is very reminiscent of Scandinavia. There are large areas with ferns, blueberries in abundance, and cranberries can also be found.

This entire path along the ponds is closed. It belongs to the fishing club, the entrance has been blocked off and there are fines for entering the area without permission. What a shame.
