The core of St. Lucy's Chapel dates back to the 13th century and belonged to a farmstead, the present-day Sionite Farmstead, which passed from Siegburg Abbey to the Cistercian convent of Ophoven before the mid-13th century. As early as 1250, the farmstead and chapel came into the possession of the Cologne monastery of Sion, where they remained until secularization at the beginning of the 19th century. The Dickopsbach stream originates in Phantasialand and feeds the Entenfang (duck pond) with water.

Well-developed paths that invite you to ride, many people on the road, some with dogs

On the edge of the village of Keldenich - part of the town of Wesseling - there is a small nature reserve with the lovely name "Entenfang". The lake shore cannot be reached directly - either on foot or by bike - as it is a nature reserve, but there is a small bird watching station on the side of the road. The fields and meadows bordering the lake area are a very popular destination, and are therefore visited accordingly, especially when the weather is good. (In the current weather, you can be "alone in the wide open spaces").

Behind this large-format sign with the number combination “666” there is no satanic sequence of numbers, but it is simply the counting of the river kilometers of “Father Rhine”: At the village of Urfeld – which belongs to the city of Wesseling – Rhine kilometer 666 is reached.

A complete walk around the NSG "Entenfang" is not recommended, as the other half of the path runs along the main road and the hiker has to share it with cyclists. At the point marked here as a highlight you can get a good look at the water and the water birds. A hut with a view was specially built.
