From 1926 to 1941 there was a cooperator branch of the Altenfelden parish, from 1941 to 1950 a parish branch, and in 1950 a parish of its own. The church in Arnreit was built in the neo-Romanesque style between 1895 and 1900 by master builder Franz Schiefthaler. The church tower was built between 1953 and 1955 with the architect Reinhold Kroh. The roof turret was put on in 1956.
