The name KOMETOR is a combination of the words "comet" and "gate." The town of Peuerbach's coat of arms also depicts a wide-open gate with a view of the sky. Nice, fresh, and cool water. Be sure to fill up your water bottle. Another highlight is the lovely coffee house across the street. Great ambiance and flair, with excellent cakes and gateaux made by local farmers.

Peuerbach is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Grieskirchen in the Hausruckviertel with 4661 inhabitants. The community is located in the judicial district of Grieskirchen. On November 6, 2016, there was a vote on whether Peuerbach would be merged with the neighboring communities of Bruck-Waasen and Steegen. The majority of the residents of Peuerbach and Bruck-Waasen voted in favor, the majority of the residents of Steegen against. Thus Peuerbach is merged with Bruck-Waasen. The merged community continues the name Stadtgemeinde Peuerbach.
