The war memorial is located in the center of Grafenberg and consists of two construction phases. The central section dates from 1921 and was built to honor the victims of World War I. The two side wings were added in 1957 to commemorate World War II. The memorial was made of Grafenberg granite.

At the beginning of 2024, the city pond was strictly cleared of "greenery". Trees and hedges were removed. However, there is a good reason for this: they want to prevent the roots from damaging the dam and, in the worst case, even causing a dam break. Despite the "clear-cutting", the pond is a beautiful leisure oasis in Eggenburg.

The Egentor is named after the city’s founder, Egino.
