The Bauer weir is fish migration aid. The weir system was given a ramp-like appearance when the milking flow was regulated. The weir, over 2 meters high with a smooth ramp surface, was an insurmountable obstacle for migratory fish all year round. The narrowing of the Milk Valley leaves no space on the left or right bank for the installation of a fish walker. On the right the rock face, on the left the mill canal to the sawmill, so a special solution had to be found. A fish walking aid with a length of 110m and 3% gradient was realized, which first runs across the weir and then along the rock face.
