The Wolfsgraben Parish Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in the Lower Austrian municipality of Wolfsgraben. It is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and belongs to the Purkersdorf deanery in the Vicariate of Unter dem Wienerwald of the Archdiocese of Vienna. The church building is a listed building.

Very nice hiking trails with different lengths (good walking trails). The routes are well signposted. You might see fire salamanders in the Wolfsgraben wetland biotope - my husband and I were obviously particularly lucky: we saw 4 fire salamanders on our hike!

Wolfsgraben is a Wienerwald municipality and is located in the Lower Austrian industrial district, about 15 km west of Vienna. The area of the municipality covers 17.34 square kilometers, 66 percent of the area is forested. In the municipality there are no other cadastral communities except Wolfsgraben. It is traversed by the Wolfsgrabenbach, which rises near the Kleinen Semmering and flows into the Wien two kilometers north of the town at the Wienerwaldsee. Here the valley is about 200 meters deep and is bridged by the distinctive Wolfsgraben valley crossing of the western autobahn.

Story of the Angel Cross It is not known when the cross was erected for the first time. According to tradition, a pastor once walked across the meadow, it belonged to a farmer named ENGEL, it was free cattle farming and cattle grazed here. A bull was outraged by the disturbance and attacked the pastor. In his distress and full of trust in God, he held out his cross to the animal and lo and behold the animal stopped and spared the priest. For this reason, a cross was set up and because of what was happening on the meadow, it was called the Angel Cross. In 1961, at the suggestion of Carl Söldner, Mr. Richard Felbermayer cut a sheet metal cross and the artist Rudolf Pleban painted the Corpus Christi on it. Dean Ludwig Hinnerth consecrated the cross. Time and weather took their toll on the cross and it became unsightly. In 1974 the cross was renovated and Mr. Alois Ulram (father of Lotte Wolf) painted Christ crucified. Since Mr. Neidhart had also copied and renovated the wayside shrine "Mary with the forest animals", also by Rudolf Pleban, on the Pfalzberg, he was asked to also take care of the angel cross.
