The historic lighthouse was built between 1860 and 1919. From the parking lot, it's about a 10-minute walk to the old lighthouse. It's a bit of a climb, but if you don't feel like it, you can also take the Flying Dutchman funicular. It takes you there and back for 75 Rand. Once at the top, you'll have spectacular views of the cliffs, the Atlantic Ocean, and False Bay. Historical significance: the cast-iron tower was built on Cape Point Peak and stands 249 meters above sea level. Its white, flashing light of 2,000 candlepower could be seen by ships 67 kilometers offshore. The lighthouse proved ineffective because it was often obscured by clouds and fog. After the Portuguese ocean liner 'Lusitania' was shipwrecked in 1911, it was decided to build the current lighthouse on Dias Point, 87 meters above sea level.

You'll find this small waterfall along the Garden Route. A bench invites you to linger. Fancy a refreshing dip? Do what you can't resist.

You'll find this nature classroom on the Garden Route hiking trail. There are several signs with information about the flowers, plants, animals, and insects you can encounter in Tsitsikamma National Park, for example. Benches invite you to relax.

Here on the platform at Stormsrivier Bay, you'll have stunning views. Stormsrivier is located in the Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve, which means "the place of much water." There's always something going on here, so grab your binoculars and scan the horizon.

The spectacular Lookout Point is definitely worth exploring. Stunning views are your reward on the narrow ledge. The ledge (only 40 cm wide) is accessed at your own risk. For some, it's a challenge, for others, a nightmare. Still, it's a fun, adventurous spot for a selfie.

A highlight of Tsitsikamma National Park. Storms River is a small town at the mouth of the river of the same name. Storms River is located within Tsitsikamma National Park, which is part of the beautiful green Garden Route National Park. The famous suspension bridge over the river mouth can be found here. This is definitely a place to take beautiful photos of the rugged coastline and lush forests and offers many wonderful walking and hiking trails.
