The Lower Gate, also known as the Ochsenfurt Gate, was built in 1518 as part of the town's fortifications. The four-story solid structure, with a gateway and bell tower, is adorned with a three-story decorative volute gable. The masonry is Gothic; it was remodeled in the second half of the 16th century. Access to the second floor is via a wooden staircase on corbels.
