The Altenstädter Warte, also called Naumburger Warte or simply the Warte, is the stump of a watchtower built in the 14th century near the former municipal boundary of the Electorate of Mainz town of Naumburg in northern Hesse, which is now used as an observation tower. Immediately next to the tower is a hikers' rest area with two groups of tables along the Habichtswaldsteig premium hiking trail that passes by. Since 2011, the area, which has been converted into a "fairytale rest area," has also featured a so-called "sky swing," a monumental swing made of five bolted oak trunks, two strands of chain, and a plastic seat. Beautiful hiking rest area at the Zweiherrenstein along the Historical Boundary Stone Trail in the shade of the beech trees.

Interesting. Who would put something like that in the middle of the forest? Judging by the condition of the figures, they have been there for a long time and exude a somewhat morbid charm. Apparently the forestry workers even put a warning on one of the trees, which is probably intended to prevent the ensemble from being accidentally run over.
