The waterfall is currently dry (August 2025), and the path leading there is quite overgrown. What a pity!😢

A church was first mentioned there in 1301. In 1659, a visitation report described it as a very poor, dilapidated little church. It had only one altar and only one chalice. It was only in 1775 that Abbot Bernhard Winterl (1744-1780) had the old little church torn down and the current single-nave church with a round choir built in the Baroque style. On the western side rises the squat porch tower with the flat pyramid roof.

Here you can strengthen yourself, the Mediterranean Flayr and the 🍻 make a visit worthwhile.

The scenic backdrop formed by the Drau Glacier around Carinthia's sixth-largest lake is stunning. Café Sunseit'n is inconspicuously located in a small bay to the east, amidst a small belt of reeds. The fact that this is a truly wonderful place to stay was already known around 6,000 years ago, when a pile-dwelling settlement was built here during the Neolithic period. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011.

Family friendliness is particularly important in the Keutschach valley. A particularly popular children's destination is the "Magic Forest Rauschelesee".

The Keutschach lake valley is also known as the “camping heart” of the region. On the south side of Lake Keutschach is Europe’s largest nudist area on an inland lake. A nudist and camping offer that is unique in Europe makes the place famous far beyond Austria’s borders.
