Half-timbered church in Gartz near Havelberg with its octagonal floor plan was built in 1688 and today appears to be a completely crooked structure. Inside there is a baroque altar and a Lütkemüller organ from 1871.

The Elbe cycle path is a very beautiful and varied river cycle path. Absolute driving recommendation!

Here in Tangermünde 🏰 and the surrounding area, it's wonderful to cycle 🚴 or hike and a city tour is a must if you're already here. I will come here again, because I certainly haven't seen everything yet...👀😂🙋🏼♂️ and then visit one of the nice restaurants...🤤😋

If you would like to explore the city on your own, but don't want to join a city tour, the city snippet hunt "Self-running" is a great alternative. Can be purchased online via the city's homepage or on site in the "Artificium" (in the Leaning House on Langen Straße in Tangermünde).

Havelberg belonged to Brandenburg until 1952, but a territorial reform in the GDR brought it to Saxony-Anhalt. A vote carried out in the city council in 1990 with the aim of being re-affiliated to Brandenburg was unsuccessful with a narrow result.
