Every time I walk up to Christenberg, I look at the reflection of the Christenberg church in the mirror pond. It is simply beautiful to look at in any weather.

The reflection of St. Martin's Church in the mirror pond is always a highlight on the hike to Christenberg from Münchhausen. Otto Ubbelohde found this pond and its reflection so beautiful that he used it as a model for the illustration of the fairy tale "Iron Hans". Many years ago I once read the fairy tale to a hiking group at this spot.

I've seen many quarry lakes, but the Diabassee and the adjacent "Steinbruch Kohlenacker" nature reserve were a truly enchanting spot in the February sun. It invites you to linger and relax. A beautiful, romantic place of longing.
