The Monte Moro Pass is located on the border between Switzerland and Italy, connecting the Saas Valley in Valais to the Anzasca Valley in Piedmont. The saddle between the Ludwigshöhe and the Parrotspitze is the centre of an arena of the highest mountains in the Alps. The Matterhorn peeks cautiously out from behind the Lykamm, while a triumvirate of the Dufourspitze and Zumsteinspitze, next to the Signalkuppe, lies opposite it, white-clad and awe-inspiring. Far to the southwest, almost inconspicuous, you can catch a glimpse of the great Mont Blanc in its white cloak in some places. What is impressive, however, is the here and now and the humility of the little man among many giants.

When coming from Visp from Neubrück, be sure to take the old cantonal road on the western side of the valley. This climb is a very special jewel among the pass roads, the piste is excellent, the characteristics varied. Only on very hot days can the climb be a little strenuous due to very little shade - in such cases, getting up early helps a lot.
