Great Springs that was quieter than others

The Ocala National Forest is the southernmost national forest in the continental United States. It was established at the turn of the 20th century, though it has always been home to the Timucua. It spans across sand pine scrub forests, freshwater lakes, and natural springs. It is also a haven for wildlife like Florida black bears, alligators, and countless bird species. The Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway winds through the heart of the Big Scrub, and its mild winters make it a perfect year-round camp spot.

Buck Lake, just off the Florida Trail, has a campground nestled in the forest with primitive restrooms and a boat ramp. This campground is open all year round and is also just off of National Forest Road 562-1. The surrounding trees provide nice amounts of shade.

This freshwater lake, originally named after Nathaniel A. Ware, a state land official from the frontier period, but was later misspelled on the official title. It offers some of the best views of the water, and there's a dock area where you can take a break and enjoy a closer look.

Eaton's Beach is the name of the beach and the restaurant that sits next to it. The food, drinks, service, and views from the restaurant are all top notch. The beach along Lake Weir is nice and sandy and you're able to rent all manner of beach and water equipment should you so desire.

Like many lakes in this part of Florida, Lake Kerr has clean, clear water. It's shallow with an average depth of 10 feet, but the deeper areas can be over 25 feet. It's a popular spot for boating, fishing, and swimming.

Farles Prairie Recreation Area, situated along the shores of Farles Lake, offers stunning water views and various opportunities to extend your ride and explore the area. It also serves as a pleasant break point along your ride.

You can swim in the Springs in a „pool“ area. Water Temperature is always 72F. Nice trails in different lengths. Couple of waterfalls.
