They also call Sluis Eefde the gate of Twente, because it is the only access to the Twente canals for inland shipping. Since 2020, the lock complex has 2 lock chambers, which has improved the accessibility of the ports in Twente. Around the lock, walkers and cyclists are more important than cars. Cars are guests, which is safer for all visitors who want to see the impressive complex in action.

This needs no explanation. What a beautiful piece of the Netherlands and how cool that there are such beautiful (solo!) cycle paths over it, no other traffic except for the occasional walkers.
