Magnificent segment which connects Tornac to the RD 133 between Anduze and St Félix de Pallières (via Chemin de Cabrides) passing by the Ste Baudille church and the Monastery. The road turns into a track going up the Ourne stream and provides access to several swimming or refreshment points, uncrowded, as bucolic as possible, and perfect for gravel.

Beautiful surroundings, but there is an exit to the left towards Saint Jean de Gare, where passage was not possible due to flooding. So follow the route to St. Jean via the other internal road. Easy to cycle

The road passes at this exact spot at the level of the houses adjoining the old mine of Saint-Sébastien-d'Agrefeuille.

Water is precious in the south of France. The very name of the department of Gard comes from the name of a river: Le Gardon. The Gardon is a generic name which means river. This is why there are many local rivers with this name. Here it is the Gardon d'Anduze. This name also refers to a freshwater fish with silver scales and bright red fins.

Nice place, with nice typical streets. Gate of the Cervennes. A busy core during the holiday season. During the summer there is a night market on Tuesday evenings and also a market on Sunday mornings until the afternoon. Please note: Due to the market, diversions and roads will be closed on Tuesday evenings.

A small film studio has set up shop here on the edge of the road in the middle of the Cevennes. Nothing special in itself, but a look into the driveway and the courtyard reveals a number of curious objects: a yellow taxi that obviously landed a little unlucky; a small, funny-looking alien who peers out of the tall grass in front of the taxi ... What else do you see?

Anduze is a delightfully charming little town nestled between two huge rocks. That's why people like to say "gateway to the Cevennes" to the pretty village. Here you really are spoiled for choice of what to do: a hike through the beautiful nature, a swim in the river... My recommendation is clearly a walk through the cozy alleys of the city. There's a lot to discover. For example, the small restaurant Tife Tafe on Place Notre Dame. In addition to good food in a great ambience, there are also excellent craft beers from the region, which the chef Olivier personally selects and is happy to make recommendations for. If you're lucky it's summer and Tuesday. Because then there is always a night market in the city and the streets are full of market stalls and street musicians. If you are in the city for more than a day and would like to take a little trip, I can recommend the “Bambouseraie de Prafrance” botanical garden about three kilometers north of the city. There you can admire bamboo varieties in all their variance.

The Gard or Gardon comes from the Cevennes and flows generally in a southeasterly direction. It has several source rivers, which are called "Gardon" with or without additional designations and whose flow paths from the respective source to the confluence with the Rhône are of similar length. Administratively, one has not declared the longest, but a central one to be the main river. This rises in the municipality of Saint-Martin-de-Lansuscle in the Cevennes National Park. The names are a compromise between local usage and consideration of hydrology. The official hydrographic portal SANDRE lists (not only here) several names to choose from for numerous water bodies and water body sections. The geoportal of the central national surveying authority Institut géographique national provides different names in different scales (there is something like that here and there in Germany). In the course of the main river you will find the names: Gardon (spring stream) Gardon de Saint-Martin-de-Lansuscle Gardon de Mialet Gardon d'Anduze "Gard ou ("or") Gardon"

The Anduze rule, established in the 10th century, was one of the oldest and most powerful in Languedoc. The Lords of Anduze were allied with the Counts of Toulouse and took part in the Albigensian Crusade. In 1266 the Anduze rule fell to the crown, but the place remained the seat of a bailiff. Anduze is the cradle of sericulture in France, which was cultivated here from the end of the 13th century. The place became the regional center of the silk and wool trade. In the 16th and 17th centuries, Anduze was an important center of Protestantism in the Cevennes. The fortified site, inhabited by 6,000 people in 1570, became the headquarters of the Protestant forces in southern France. In 1622 it was the base of the resistance of the Rohan, but was stripped of its city walls after the grace edict of Alès. In the 19th century, Anduze experienced a renewed economic boom with the Industrial Revolution (silk moths, stocking makers, hat makers), but later - like the entire Cevennes - fell into another recession.
