ヴィッテンベルゲ近郊の新しいB189橋は、A14高速道路の拡幅工事の一部であり、北側に隣接する老朽化した旧橋（1978年建設、DDR最長の道路橋）です。2026年半ばから交通が開始される予定の新橋は、エルベ川横断を近代化し、古い構造物を置き換えるための大規模なインフラプロジェクトの一部として建設されます。

As you travel along the Elbe dike, you will have a wonderful view of the Elbe valley meadows and the course of the Elbe River.

Normally, this Elbe crossing should be avoided by bike. Currently, however, there's almost no alternative. My breathtaking experience was that ALL trucks on the federal highway maintained a considerable distance or waited. Crossing the railway bridge is expected to be possible again from fall 2025.

The name of the "highlight" doesn't really fit here. Schnackenburg and Pevestorf are located on opposite sides of the Elbe. However, the section where the highlight is marked is located between Lütkenwisch and the Lenzener Schutzhafen.

The Hafenspeicher (harbor warehouses) in Wittenberge are striking historic buildings at the Elbe harbor and a testament to the city's industrial past. The warehouses were built in two phases. The first, smaller warehouse was constructed in 1910, while two larger warehouse buildings were added between 1938 and 1939. In recent years, extensive development projects have been initiated around the Hafenspeicher (harbor warehouses) to revitalize the area and make it usable for both residential and commercial purposes.
