A lovely spot to take a break. What's no longer so lovely is that the former meadow path to the hut has been completely obliterated with frost protection material, so now cars can easily drive right up to it. In my opinion, this is yet another example of blind destruction of nature, because a few people simply don't want to or can't walk 50 meters. It devalues this wonderful natural spot...

In summer, guests can sit in a relaxed garden, while in winter the cozy parlor invites you to linger. It is a place where you can feel the peace of the Rhön and leave everyday life behind you for a while. The Thuringian Rhönhaus is not only a place to eat and relax, but also a symbol of the tradition and culture of the Rhön. The most famous vantage point with a beautiful view of the city is dedicated to the gallery and portrait painter and park designer Samuel Diez. The Diezhäuschen was destroyed by arson in 2013 and rebuilt by the city of Meiningen in 2015.
