A magnificent view in an enchanted forest!

I often come here with my dog; it's definitely one of my favorite places, especially in the hot summer months. It's nice and cool, there's always a place for the dog to drink, and the scenery is breathtaking.

Of course, it's a special highlight when the heather blooms in late summer and bathes the entire landscape in pink.

The Rumpelbach Gorge is a small sandstone gorge in Middle Franconia near the Altdorf municipality of Röthenbach. It is also called the Röthenbach Gorge after the Röthenbach River, which flows into the Pegnitz near the town of Röthenbach, and at whose upper reaches the rocky notch lies.
