Jegenstorf Castle is a baroque castle in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, built in the 18th century on the foundations of a medieval moated castle. It is surrounded by a picturesque park and is characterized by its elegant facades and distinctive mansard roof. Today, the castle houses a museum that shows the living culture and history of Bernese patrician families, with authentically furnished rooms and collections of furniture, works of art and everyday objects from the 17th to 19th centuries. Jegenstorf Castle is a cultural highlight of the region and a popular place for walks and cultural events.

Here you have a magnificent wide view of the alpine Oberland. In addition, two fireplaces invite you to barbecue with a view.

well Davy Crocket, America's most famous trapper, would have loved this cabin in the woods. The kids of modern times certainly too. There is enough space for the little ones to let off steam while the parents, mainly the fathers, can prove themselves at the barbecue. The atmosphere is wildly romantic, which of course is also due to the fact that "The Cabin in the Woods" was designed and built in the log cabin style a spacious fireplace with benches and a large table. Firewood should be available.

The view from this generously planned barbecue area is characterized by wide greenery. For families with children the ideal place to spend a great time outdoors. During our visit we did not find any ready-made firewood, which does not mean that this is always the case.

The castle is a little uniod. The main tower is the heart of the patrician palace and also the oldest part of the complex. Jegenstor Castle is open to the public and houses a museum. Events, celebrations, events or weddings can also be held here. The castle park is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the May to October season. Outside the season, the park is freely accessible from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The castle café also only invites you to linger during the season. The opening hours are as follows: as of 2022 Mon - Sat 2pm - 5pm Sun 1pm - 5pm.
