Very beautiful section of the Neckarsteig

For me the most beautiful section of this stage of the Neckarsteig.

An exhibition in Eberbach's town hall is now dedicated to a long-extinct species. Among other things, it features a scaled-down replica of a dinosaur that roamed the area that later became the Neckar Valley and Odenwald around 250 million years ago. Evidence of this is a fossilized print, also featured in the exhibition, which geologist Dr. Marco Lichtenberger interpreted as the footprint of an Erythrosuchus. This carnivorous prehistoric dinosaur belonged to the group of chirotheres (hand-carrying animals) and is also known as the "red crocodile." It grew up to six meters long. The dinosaur footprint from Eberbach is one of the oldest finds of this animal group in the world. The sandstone with the peculiar depressions was discovered in 1994 by Eberbach artist Michael Krauth on the western slope of the Scheuerberg, southeast of Eberbach.
